A short Thursday post
One of the community agreements that is used here is "move up, move back", which is basically be aware of how much space you are taking up with your participation and voiced opinions and such. I realize that I am taking up a lot of space on this blog, but I am going to post again today anyway! It will be a short one, just some little updates.
Things are starting to get busier around here, mainly because clubs and student groups are starting to meet. I signed up for way too many at the club fair, so I'll just talk about the meetings that I've gone to so far/the ones I'm most likely to actually do.
Vassar Outing Club is an outdoors club that leads various adventures outdoors, ranging from hiking and climbing to backpacking, skiing, and searching for bugs to eat.
Hunger Action is a club centered on raising awareness and helping combat food insecurity in the Poughkeepsie community through food drives and canvassing, volunteer work in soup kitchens, and fundraising bake sales.
RunVassar is the casual running club.
I am also going to play in a wind quartet and in the wind ensemble, so that should be a lot of fun and keep me busy with music.
This was a very lame post, but I'm going to publish it anyway.
I thought of another thing to add! I received a package from home today with a lot of things that I had requested, and it made my day! Thank you to my Mum (and maybe Dad?)! It is a lot of fun to receive mail, so if anyone wants to write letters, I'd love to write you! Snail mail will also help to alleviate my spending time on the screen problem, as email and text as forms of communication are convenient but still screen time. There is something more relaxing about letters, whereas texts and emails can sometimes feel like items on the to-do list that need to be responded to. Which is not to say that I don't love them and hearing from anybody in that way! I am just advocating for letters if anybody is interested. Also, I have some cool bee stamps so why wouldn't you want to write to me?
