Goodbye August (Somewhat Random Summer Stuff)

By Jae-An Wang

Hello everyone! Even though there is still quite a while until I start school, I figured I might as well make a routine of blogging every week or so to make sure I keep going when classes start and everything.

10/10 would recommend if you're into this kind of thing
Anyhow, I don't quite remember which day, but at some point last week I went to Emma's house to hang out. It was very chill; at first we watched some Bachelors in Paradise. I don't really watch reality TV or TV in general too much at all (except GoT let's gooo), but I can say with some certainty that Bachelors in Paradise isn't quite the show for me. More enjoyable was Kimi no na Wa, also known as Your Name in English. Emma and I had already kinda watched this in Japanese class, but it was still as visually stunning, emotionally satisfying, and just plain cute as the first time around.

Random trinkets and such
I keep forgetting to return that abacus to Mr. Pang...
Following our little get-together, I'm in the midst of preparing for school as much as I can to vent my excitement to leave; one thing this meant for was having a little cleaning session where I finally organized most (still a work in progress) of my room! I figured I should have all my possessions and affairs in order before I leave (no wills yet though haha), or at least have those boxes all cluttered about from when we moved in a whole year ago sorted out. Cleaning and organizing was much easier and satisfying than I thought it would be, and I feel like it definitely gave my quality of life rating a good boost.

I've also started pre-studying! Since I'm skipping quite a few math classes that I never intended to skip, I figured it would be hitting two targets with one stone (wouldn't want to hit any birds, now) to review the entirety of the last two math classes I've taken; I'd be reviewing material that needed much reviewing and building up my relatively nonexistent study skills. Other than math, I'm also obsessing over and even taking notes on this book from the library called Your Complete Guide to Success in College which I suppose may be rather cringey of me, but I stopped caring a while ago.

Other than being somewhat productive (probably the most productive I've been all summer, actually), I've mostly just been trying to find ways to avoid the heat; today I went to El Cerrito to go bowling with Leon since I thought it would be cooler closer to the coast. Turns out it was also in the upper 90s. Oh, well...
