Just Roll With It (Tribute to Rick)
New item on my UCLA bucket list: sometime before I graduate, I want to get a medium-to-large-sized rock, and somehow engrave my name in it. Then I shall throw it into the inverted fountain, where hopefully it will stay for a long time. I am not very sure how or why I came up with this idea,
but it's going to happen, mark my words.
Ever since last week, I've had a pretty wack sleep schedule from midterms and such. This was not helped at all by my brief return home Friday night to Saturday afternoon, since I went to sleep at around 1:30 the night I went back. Sleep aside though, going home was a refreshing break from the stressful onslaught that is midterms, of which I've completed two. After flying over, the parents and the brother picked me up from the airport, and we headed home. The car ride was quite bizarre for me; never have I been away from home for this long, so I'm pretty sure I rambled a lot on topics including video games and De Neve Late Night food (which happens quite deliciously unhealthy in that I'll-feel bad-about-it-later kind of way).
After getting back to the house, I immediately looked for the family member I was most excited to be reunited with: Meeko! Given the fact that he only let me scratch his chin a little, and then promptly hid, I'm not really sure if he still remembers who I am... Hopefully I'll be able to spend more time with him and get on friendly terms again over winter break, which is (ahem) very soon [holiday music heard faintly in background].
Entering Saturday, I had my orthodontist appointment, which is quite the most trivial reason to fly all the way home for when you think about it. Things went smoothly, and afterwards I had lunch with the parents at a pretty good Chinese restaurant outside of the Asian mall. Then they drove me to the airport, and I flew back to LA (the flight was delayed nearly two hours ugh).
Until now, I haven't missed home much, but going back this weekend kinda made me wish I had more time to spend at home. I dunno.
Please go back and read the first letter of each line.
