Not Much

Ahh…it’s Friday once again. The weekends here feel so much longer than they do at home, but even so, it’d be nice to have another three-day weekend like last week. Holidays on Mondays are the best, since you get both an extra day of rest and one less day of work the next week, which kind of eases the transition a little bit.

Speaking of last weekend, I guess I should mention that I went home! I flew back Friday night, which wasn’t very fun because of delays and the fact that I had completely forgotten I’d be flying into SFO instead of Oakland and BARTing home. I had wanted to bring my model rockets home to store, but decided against it since I wasn’t sure about Southwest’s policy about missile-shaped objects in carry-on bags, and was too lazy to check. I wondered what would have happened if I had brought them with me…?

Anyhow, not much happened. I tried to be sufficiently productive. We went bowling. Meeko was an adorable little munchkin, as usual. I watched one of the Germany bobsledding teams flip over at the finish line. Kayla came over with Ying on Sunday to eat some late Chinese New Year’s dinner (it was delicious). I had my ortho appointment Monday and then flew straight back, sitting aisle seat next to two postgrads with a French bulldog named Toblerone whose eyes continuously tracked the small mountain of complimentary pretzels I consumed to survive until dinner. I discreetly took a picture on my phone.

Finals are only a few weeks away, so things are starting to rev up a bit! I’m a little nervous, since I have a couple midterms coming up next week, as well as the deadline for my utopia draft, for which I have yet to completely flesh out my ideas, but I have faith. I’ll need a little more than that to get by soon, though… 




Since I don’t really have much to talk about right now, how about a meaningless annoying puzzle?

    omg this post. i love the 3rd paragraph. i got flip phone but didnt get farther than that. too tired rn. who is that pooh and where did you see him?!

Hello friends! I’m officially back at school, but before we get into that I did so many fun school things before classes even started that I need to share! So Wind Ensemble takes a trip every year, and this year we got extra funding from the music department so we got to go Barcelona!!! So I flew back to Tufts a week early and went to the airport with my whole WE gang Tuesday night. Everyone was so excited! We could not believe we were about to be in Spain! tidbits of a peaceful life

 After a long hiatus from this blog site, I am back with some updates on my final semester of college! In typical-Tamika fashion, I'm going to structure this as lists for the sake of ease. The short summary of my life at the moment is that I have a wonderfully interesting courseload but quite relaxed workload, which means I spend a lot of time doing leisurely activities and sleeping (and also applying for jobs/trying to figure out post-grad plans, but I'm intentionally leaving most of that drama out for now...you'll get an update when I have concrete news!).  I suppose it has been a while! While my lifestyle of running, cooking, and bits and pieces of school and projects hasn't changed much, a lot has happened and spring has truly sprung! It's truly that season, as the goslings are out and I have been hissed at by protective parent geese. Hurrah! Some notes of late: Last class for one of my education classes yesterday! We had a little off-campus party with Exodus, our community partner and the host organization for our formerly incarcerated classmates. It was so cute, and the first party I've had in a long time (because of COVID...) We all got little certificates and there were balloons and cake . And it was so fun to finally meet the non-Vassar students and chat a little bit :) This class has definitely been a learning experience and motivates me to more actively seek out relationship building with those whose life experiences are vastly different from my own.
