By Tamika Whitenack

Things have officially picked up, and I am officially very busy! I think the most effective way to give you a sense of my life right now would just be to give you some comprehensive lists of things that happened this week/things happening next week/my schedule.

HW, HW, HW

Ok so that is my normal, somewhat consistent schedule. Adding into a lot of those blocks of sort of free time (which right now are just labeled with HW lol), sometimes/often I try to bake/cook if I have time, especially on weekends. We also do Vassar Food Community (this is a food-centric club that I have become pretty involved in organizing for) events on weekends (ie cooking classes), and there are often other events going on that I will attend on weeknights or weekends (ie Lunar New yEar dinner last Saturday, a workshop on reading fiction (harry potter!) as a sacred text on Thurs.). Also I like actually try to be social and hang out with friends on the weekends and stuff too (social studying is a good practice haha)

Homework:
I consistently have reading for Sociology and Environmental Studies
I consistently have online exercises for Spanish, plus some small assignments like write 10 sentences
I consistently have pre-lab worksheets for Biology, reading from the textbook, and reading the lab manual to prepare my notebook for lab
Last week I had: a 6-8 pg paper due in ENST, plus a 15 min group presentation
This coming week I have: a 3 pg paper due in SOC, a 5 min presentation for ENST
Next week I have: another 6-8 pg paper due for ENST, the Bio Module 1 Final assignment (sort of like a lab report), SOC midterm (in class and take home sections)

Additionally, next weekend I am going to Cornell with ASA for the East Coast Asian American Students Union conference.
And, on Monday 3/5 Miya is coming to visit for a few days!!!

So, it is looking very busy until Spring Break, which, unbelievably, is 2 weeks away! The semester is flying by, I'm a bit in shock. But keeping quite busy and enjoying it all.

Since we're on a scheduling note, I guess I'll mention that I'm adding two half-credit classes when we return from Spring Break. One is called "Reclaiming the Sacred" and its about happiness in the age of consumerism, the other is "Field Experiences in the Hudson Valley" and it's an ENST class that is field trip based. Both will be very experiential. I'm excited. Also laughing a little bc this will add 8 more hours of class to my week! But busy is good.

I think my next post is going to be about falling asleep...sounds boring but trust me, I'm fascinating.
