my room + lots of shoutouts to mom

By Tamika Whitenack

The majority of this post is going to be devoted to a comprehensive tour of my room because I have new decorations thanks to October break and my mom (thanks mum!!), but I have to start out by sharing the wonderful afternoon I just had. It was post-5K-fun run in the rain, so I was in a good mental state due to racing adrenaline and energy. (I won the race with a 20:46 time! but also bc it was rainy there werent that many people running lol)

ANyway, imagine typical blissful Tamika and then make this scenario:

Place: ALANA Center Community room, comfy couches and big windows to let in natural light and the surrounding nature

Company: Sylvia and Emily, two of my favorite people here!

Snacks: popcorn with almond butter, granola sampler, avocados with raw pumpkin seeds, a freshly made banana muffin, veggie chips from Bbowl, pistachios, peanut butter, rice crackers, and some fresh fruit and vegetables....also, TEA

Activity: knitting (I finally learned how!!) and watching Planet Earth

If this isn't evidence that I am secretly 76 years old idk what is but it was such a great time to be had by all :)

Ok now for a tour of my room + some bonus pics. I wanted to share my living space because I have been thinking about how being intentional in the way we make space ours can really affect how I feel in the space and is a way for me to try and share and spread joy and beauty and reflect things that are important to me. And this is the first space I have ever had that was solely mine so it's very special to me and I try to make it a space that feels like a reflection of my best self and beliefs :)
