weird vibes but its october break so thats good!

It has been such a busy past couple of weeks (also we are halfway through October whaatttt) and I don't really know how to blog about it all! Also I'm sick right now and on October break and spent most of the day in our hotel room in Northampton so I'm just feeling really funky atm.

I think I'll copy Cam and do a blog that is mostly photos!! But to give context i will also list some major events of the past 2 weeks:

ALANA Fest, our big community event with food and performers and fun
-making cupcakes to celebrate end of ALANA Fest with Sumiko bc the two of us were the planning people and whew it is a relief that the event came together somewhat smoothly!

FALL is in full swing and also in the past 2 days or so it has gotten legit cold as in I ran in my running jacket on Friday

I wrote a paper for my Education class about high school sports

I submitted my declaration for Environmental Studies major! But have to resubmit bc they changed the requirements lol

I got a lot of bug bites during an ENST lab and also on a sunrise hike at Stissing mt

I'm starting to get sick of the amount of oil on deece veggies so decided to steam some from the salad bar in the microwave the other day

we had ramen for an asian american studies working group bonding event yayay i also made crisp for that

october break has begun and i started with a wee camping trip to Mohonk preserve area with Emily and it was soooooo fun and peaceful and i love nature omg

now i am in Northampton with mom and we spent the day with Julia mostly and ate a lot of bread/toast

Hello friends! I’m officially back at school, but before we get into that I did so many fun school things before classes even started that I need to share! So Wind Ensemble takes a trip every year, and this year we got extra funding from the music department so we got to go Barcelona!!! So I flew back to Tufts a week early and went to the airport with my whole WE gang Tuesday night. Everyone was so excited! We could not believe we were about to be in Spain! Then after a few hours of waiting at the airport we learned that the airline could only send six of us to Spain. tidbits of a peaceful life

 After a long hiatus from this blog site, I am back with some updates on my final semester of college! In typical-Tamika fashion, I'm going to structure this as lists for the sake of ease. The short summary of my life at the moment is that I have a wonderfully interesting courseload but quite relaxed workload, which means I spend a lot of time doing leisurely activities and sleeping (and also applying for jobs/trying to figure out post-grad plans, but I'm intentionally leaving most of that drama out for now...you'll get an update when I have concrete news!).  I suppose it has been a while! While my lifestyle of running, cooking, and bits and pieces of school and projects hasn't changed much, a lot has happened and spring has truly sprung! It's truly that season, as the goslings are out and I have been hissed at by protective parent geese. Hurrah! Some notes of late: Last class for one of my education classes yesterday! We had a little off-campus party with Exodus, our community partner and the host organization for our formerly incarcerated classmates. It was so cute, and the first party I've had in a long time (because of COVID...) We all got little certificates and there were balloons and cake . And it was so fun to finally meet the non-Vassar students and chat a little bit :) This class has definitely been a learning experience and motivates me to more actively seek out relationship building with those whose life experiences are vastly different from my own.
